How we can help
Support for the whole of you, gently and at your pace.
One framework, many parts of life
I am a Clinical Psychologist and an EMDRAA Accredited Practitioner. EMDR therapy is the framework for all of my work. Whatever brings you here, whether it is trauma, fertility and IVF, pregnancy and the post-partum months, stress or identity, it can be gently held and worked with inside the EMDR approach.
What this means for you
- You do not need to choose a “type” of therapy. We start with what matters to you.
- EMDR is far more than reprocessing memories. It includes support, skills and understanding from the very first session.
- Supportive therapy is always part of the work, at your pace.
- Not everyone chooses reprocessing, and that is okay. Many people do valuable work in phases 1 and 2: telling their story, building calming and grounding skills, and feeling steadier day to day. We only move on if and when you feel ready.
- Parts work, informed by structural dissociation, sits within phase 2. It helps you get to know and care for the different parts of you, builds your resources, and helps reprocessing feel safer if you choose it.
What do we mean by “parts”?
We all have different parts of us. Think of a time you felt torn: part of you wanted to go, and part of you wanted to stay home. That is completely normal.
After hard or painful experiences, some parts can carry old hurt, like younger child parts who still feel scared or alone. Other parts work very hard to protect us, perhaps by staying busy, keeping us on guard, or helping us switch off.
In parts work we get to know each part with curiosity and kindness. Every part is trying to help in its own way. As they feel understood and safer, they can begin to work together, and life can feel calmer and more connected.
