Fee Structure
All consultations at Housman Psychology are up to 50 minutes. Appointments are offered Monday to Thursday at 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 4:00pm and 5:00pm (excluding holidays and public holidays). Sessions are paced gently, with time built in to help you stay grounded and safe before finishing.
Payment
Fees are payable at the end of each consultation. You are welcome to pay via EFTPOS (savings, cheque, Visa or MasterCard), PayID, or direct bank deposit. American Express is not available. If you have questions about fees or rebates at any stage, you are warmly invited to ask, financial transparency is part of safe and ethical care.
Private Health
Private health rebates may be available depending on your fund and level of cover. It is best to check directly with your insurer.
Medicare and Bulk Billing
Medicare rebates may be available when your care is supported by a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, Psychiatrist Assessment and Management Plan, a Non Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling referral, or a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referral.
Housman Psychology is not a bulk billing practice. If you have private health cover and, or an eligible Medicare referral, there will be an out of pocket expense. I encourage clients to discuss any concerns so we can ensure you are making informed, empowered decisions about your care.
Practice Policy: Reports, Advocacy, and Documentation
My therapeutic work is grounded in EMDR and trauma focused clinical care. To protect your wellbeing and keep the therapeutic relationship safe, I maintain clear boundaries around the types of documentation I can provide.
✔ What I may provide
I may sometimes prepare brief therapeutic letters, Medicare required updates for your GP, or short clinical summaries that directly relate to your current treatment. These documents are written only when clinically appropriate, when you are an active client, and when we have discussed the purpose together. Any fees for documentation are always explained beforehand.
✔ Brief medical certificates and brief NDIS support letters
These may be provided only when they are directly relevant to your mental health treatment, when you are an active client I have seen within the same week, and when the request aligns with your current therapeutic goals. These documents are offered at my discretion, and only when safe, ethical, and clinically appropriate. They cannot be prepared on demand, cannot be backdated, and are not available once therapy has ended.
✘ What I do not provide
To protect your privacy, avoid role conflict, and remain within my scope as a treating clinical psychologist, I do not prepare court reports, legal letters, workplace, insurance or WorkCover forms, Centrelink or university documentation, housing or advocacy letters, capacity assessments, NDIS functional assessments or evidence reports, medico legal or forensic reports, or any documentation once therapy has concluded. These forms of documentation require specialist assessment by professionals trained in legal, functional, or forensic processes, and I can help you identify appropriate services if needed. Maintaining these boundaries helps keep therapy emotionally safe, confidential, and centred on your healing.
Practice Policy: Support Outside of Consultations
To keep your care safe and consistent, I do not offer therapeutic advice via phone, text message, or email. Emails are used only for administration such as scheduling, invoices, and practical follow up. If you feel distressed between sessions, please contact your GP, call 000 in an emergency, or access one of the 24, 7 crisis services listed in your intake form and consent document, and at the Emergency and 24/7 Support page. This ensures you receive timely and appropriate support and prevents safety gaps that occur when therapy happens outside session time. You are always welcome to bring any concerns, triggers, or difficulties to your next session so we can explore them together in a grounded and supported way.

Get StartedCANCELLATION POLICY
Your consultation time is reserved just for you, and I do my best to offer a reliable and supportive service. If you need to cancel or postpone your consultation, please provide at least 48 hours prior notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur the full clinic fee. For example, if your consultation is scheduled for a Monday, you will need to cancel on the Thursday prior to avoid the full fee.
Clients are unable to re book consultations while any account fees remain outstanding.
PRIVATE CLIENTS & PRIVATE HEALTH
If you wish to use private health insurance, you will need to submit your own claim after the consultation. Because Housman Psychology is a Telehealth-only service, we cannot process private health rebates through HICAPS. After your payment is processed, you will receive a paid invoice that you can upload to your private health fund. Please check with your private health insurer to confirm whether your policy covers Clinical Psychology Telehealth services.
MEDICARE CLAIMING
After the payment of your consultation has been processed, our practice manager, Glen Housman, securely submits your Medicare rebate through HPOS, the Health Professional Online Services system used by Medicare and Services Australia. Once the claim is lodged, your rebate is deposited directly into the bank account you have registered with Medicare, usually within one to three business days. To ensure your rebate is processed smoothly, please make sure your Medicare card details and the bank account linked to Medicare are current and accurate.
